For example, how did Israel manage to neutralize these air defenses? Was it drone attacks from within Iran on radar installations? I mean, what really happened there? And could the same sort of attack be carried out again by Israel or is it "one and done"?
I've also heard that during this 12 day conflict, Israel still couldn't really fly their bombers directly over Iran. I've heard the opposite too: reports that Israel dominated Iran's airspace completely.
And there's the notion that bomber flights don't even matter because cruise missiles launched at Iran from just outside Iranian airspace successfully hit targets inside Iran. Finally, there are stories out there that Iran is buying air defense systems and advanced fighters from China (which take a lot of time for unfamiliar pilots to master).
I've heard different estimates about how many big missiles Iran has left. Anything from 1000 to 4000. It's also unclear to me how much chemical stock for propellant and explosive Iran may be getting right now from Russia or China. I would guess quite a lot. Maybe Iran has actually built even more missiles now.
This whole conflict seems unpredictable. IMHO, all of the countries over there need to focus on the best air defenses they can possibly build/buy and install. Iran would probably be well advised to shoot down as many, or really any, Israeli fighter/bombers as possible. Also, I would think that Iranian missile attacks on every single Israeli air base would be a reasonable counter attack focus.
And of course, Israel will continue to try and get Iran to shoot down American bombers, or blow up American ships in the Persian Gulf, or kill US soldiers on its many regional bases, so that America is forcibly dragged in to a new war. But it is very hard to believe that the US could successfully invade Iran, given our current military state, and Russian/Chinese support for Iran. What a dead end / sinkhole that would be for America. Israel is our greatest ally.

Hopefully if Israel DOES initiate another campaign against Iran, Iran will do to Israel what Israel so badly has coming to it. Palestinians in Gaza don't have the means to blow Israel up the way Israel has blown up Gaza, but if one of their friends does the job for them, that's absolutely fair. Israelis have no one but themselves to blame for the obliteration of their insane country. Creating that nation in the first place was probably the worst mistake of the 20th Century.
Yes, that would be exactly what Israel deserves. However, if Iran stooped to Israel's level of depravity, then many would flock over to Israel's side. Throughout modern history, retaliation (no matter how justified) brings even more retaliation. That is how world wars start.
Yet, without (more than) "adequate" retaliation, a rabid dog continues to bite. Especially since it is difficult to sort out who is in charge - the rabid dog, or the Dual Citizen owners.
